May is here and it’s officially waterfall season! The Adirondacks contain so much natural beauty that it’s no surprise the region is home to several majestic waterfalls. Beaver Meadow Falls is in our very own Lake Placid region. The falls are part of St Huberts parking area/trailhead and require a bit of a trek. But once you reach them, what a reward! The falls fan out to cascade into the Ausable River.
For a truly epic waterfall experience, check out the curiously named OK Slip Falls in the Hudson Gorge Wilderness Area. OK Slip Falls are one of the highest waterfalls in the Adirondacks. The 3 mile hike to reach them is extremely popular since opening to the public in 2014.
If you want to turn your waterfall excursion into a camping trip, head to St. Regis Falls in the Saranac Lake region. You can even do a bit of fishing while you’re there.
But if you prefer to have a clean and cozy sleep after a wild excursion, be sure to book GO-Cottage! And rest easy after exploring the Adirondacks’ beautiful waterfalls.
