Lake Placid & Adirondack Park is a fantastic place to visit during summer or spring with your family and friends as there are many activities to enjoy. The following is a list of unique activities you can do in the park.

Lake Placid Horse Show
Lake Placid Horse Show is one of the activities that you cannot afford to miss. The activity has taken place in the park for more than 50 years. The Lake Placid Horse Shows have hosted phenomenal Hunter and Jumper competitions for the past 50 years. Exhibitors and visitors alike can expect the park to continue to improve on its illustrious past to deliver an unforgettable experience.
Wilmington Bike Race
Incredible views can be seen from the summit of Whiteface Mountain, which serves as the scenery for this race. At Whiteface, current and former Olympic athletes have plunged its icy slopes, which showcase the highest vertical drop of any east of the Rocky Mountains ski lodge. You’re going to do things differently, that’s for sure!
Night At The Races
When you visit Lake Placid, take part in the Kentucky Derby gallops at the Adirondacks fundraiser to benefit the Educational Opportunity Fund at the races. The event includes delicious hors d’oevres, an open bar and mint juleps.
Ironman Lake Placid
An exciting 2.4-mile swim along Mirror Lake, a challenging 112-mile cycle through the Adirondack Mountains, and an exhausting marathon at the mountain peaks and central park conclude the heavily exciting race. The marathon finishes at Lake Placid’s Olympic speed skating oval.
Beach Volleyball
Lake Placid is a winter sports enthusiast’s dream because of its cascading mountains, Olympic miracles and tamarack pines. Lake Placid also has a beach volleyball haven for its visitors.
Test Your Golfing Skills
Play on one of America’s oldest and most historic golf courses, which has been in operation for over a century and a half.
Get Out On The Water! Take A Boat Tour
In one of the enclosed pontoon boats, take a spin around Lake Placid’s crystal clear waters. Sixteen miles of one of the world’s finest lakes are covered in an hour-long narrative tour. All visitors to the Adirondacks should take a boat tour of Lake Placid. Regardless of the weather, it’s a beautiful experience.
Enjoy A Wine Tasting
Enjoy wine tasting at Swedish Hill, which offers daily seated wine tasting flights. The lodge’s deck is expanded for comfortable seating. While at the restaurant, you can enjoy the view and listen to the fantastic sounds of the water fountain. The store is open daily for curbside and bottle sales.
Hike At Algonquin Mountain
If you love hiking, then Lake Placid is the place to go. Algonquin Peak is ranked the second-highest mountain in New York. With a peak height of 5,114 feet, the 8.6-mile round-trip hike to and from the top of Algonquin Peak will test even the most experienced hikers.
Cliff Jumping At Fume Falls
There are at least two ways to get to this excellent swimming hole. An 8-foot-tall waterfall is found near the parking lot, but the real treasure is further down the road. A five-minute hike along the river following the trails is a fantastic experience.
