Spring is upon us! Time to finally break out of hibernation mode and have some fun. Lake Placid is beautiful year round but there is something so wonderful about winter changing into spring.
So without further ado, here are some of my favorite ways to spend a lovely spring weekend in LP!
Brunch is a great way to start the day if you don’t feel like eating in. Big Mountain Deli and Crêperie on Main Street is my go-to spot. Check out the menu here.
While you’re on Main Street, you can stop into all the great shops! Some places to hit are the Bookstore Plus, Darrah Cooper Jewelers, High Peaks Cyclery for sports gear and Man and Beast to treat your furry friends.
If you still need to walk off brunch, it’s time to go hiking! There are so many great trails to choose from, like Henry’s Woods and Heaven Hill. And you can even bring your dog, as we often do with our dog Lulu.
Once you’ve worked up an appetite again, head to Liquids and Solids for dinner. As their name suggests, they have amazing food AND cocktails and beer. Then, after an action packed day, it’s time to hit the hay! There’s nothing better than walking home in two minutes and jumping into those comfy GO-Cottage beds.
The next morning, go out for a spin on one of Lake Placid’s beautiful lakes and rivers. My recommendation is to spend the day kayaking on Lake Placid itself or paddling from Second Pond to Ampersand Bay or Lake Flower.
Finally, cap your fabulous weekend with dinner at Salt of the Earth Bistro. They’ve got yummy twists on traditional entrees and a selection of local beers. It’s also about a two minute walk back home to GO-Cottage.
We still have plenty of availability in April and May, so come on up to stay with us at GO-Cottage and treat yourself to a Pure ADK spring weekend.
