Who’s excited for Halloween next week? There’s no place that does autumn like the Adirondacks. So it’s no surprise that the end of October here turns into a full-on Halloween extravaganza!

Fort William Henry

If you want to to have a historical spooking, visit the Fort William Henry Museum and Fort Ticonderoga. On Friday, October 25th through Sunday the 27th, you can take a Candlelit Guided Ghost Tour at Fort William Henry. Experience the eerie atmosphere of a battleground that has seen death many times over, and see the equipment used by the site’s paranormal investigators.

Fort Ticonderoga

Fort Ticonderoga has a similar history of spooky occurrences: footsteps in deserted hallways, mysterious lights, and benches and chairs rocking on their own. The grounds are open year round, but on October 25th and 26th, you can nocturnally navigate through six-acres of towering corn stalks at Maze by Moonlight.

The Great Adirondack Corn Maze

Tucker Farms is home to the Great Adirondack Corn Maze, one of the few mazes anywhere conceived, designed, and cut by themselves and their neighbors. On Saturday the 26th, they’re hosting Fright Night in the evening. After sunset, settle in at the bonfire and prepare to make s’mores!

The Wild Center’s Haunted Forest

For some fun daytime events, check out the Wild Center and the Old Forge Library. On the 25th and 26th, the Wild Center has their annual Haunted Forest and pumpkin carving. There will be a haunted trail, crafts, face painting, Animal Encounters, and refreshments.

The Old Forge Library

Can’t wait till All Hallows Eve to don your costume? Take it for a test drive at the Old Forge Library‘s Annual Halloween Costume Party and Open House. The all-ages event on Friday, October 25th from 2:30 to 4pm will include treats, a craft table, and Halloween Bingo.

Halloween Harvest Hoedown

Finally, for one of the rowdiest Halloween-themed evenings this year, stop by the Whallonsburg Grange‘s Halloween Harvest Hoedown. From 5pm on Saturday the 26th, treat yourself to a chili and cornbread dinner, Silent Auction, and Halloween Costume Contest. Best of all, there will be square dancing accompanied by live music from the Adirondack Reel and caller Jeremy Clifford.

After long, spooky days and evenings, come back to stay at cozy GO-Cottage. Because no one wants to stay at a haunted house!

I just want to congratulate you on the exquisite job you did on the Cottages! Did I mention how dreamy the beds are? I had my best night's sleep in weeks. Ahhhhh Oh my god! I just want to move in today. You have such lovely taste. It has such a peaceful aura. We all had a wonderful stay. Thank you again.
