Rock Climbing the Adirondacks

It’s the perfect time of year to start rock climbing the Adirondacks! This region is home to 46 peaks and Lake Placid takes pride in the High Peaks – some of the most beautiful climbing views in the Northeast.

Some of the most popular Adirondack routes are Henderson Cliff, Avalanche Pass, Gothics, Noonmark, and Rooster Comb.

If you’re in nearby Keene Valley, check out Chapel Pond Slab, the Beer Walls, Upper and Lower Washbowl, Creature Wall, Spanky’s Wall, and the Spider’s Web. (Great names, right?)

The High Peaks Cyclery offers rock climbing tours, which are especially great if you’re beginner, as well as High Peaks mountain guides. Adirondack Rock is a handy, comprehensive guide for all the climbing the region has to offer.
