This spring we found a beautiful robin’s bird nest just under the eaves of the two-Bedroom cottage.
The nest was perched on top of the electric box! At first I thought, oh no – should we remove it?!
But then we looked and saw four blue eggs. So after that there was NO way we were going to move it. Mother birds are very protective as well.
The other day, we cleaned the gutters which go right on top of the nest. The mother bird chirped and cried during the whole time we were cleaning them out. She couldn’t wait to get back to sitting on her eggs. It’s such a joy to see these birds and their mother. I’m happy she picked our cottage to have her baby birds!
Here is the story of the American Robin and another interesting article to learn more. I also found a cool video on baby robin hatching because I was curious after finding our eggs!
