Once again, it’s that time of year – and we’re super excited for this year’s Lake Placid Loppet! Mark your calendar for Saturday, March 17th, just a few weeks away. Everyone has been training!
The Loppet and Kort-Loppet run on a modified version of the 5okm course for the 1980 Winter Olympics. So it’s your chance to follow in the footsteps of Olympians! The Loppet is a full 50km and the Kort-Loppet is 25km. There are also shorter Citizen’s Challenge Races, at 12.5km, 6km, and 3km.
The entry fee for the Loppet is $85 up until March 14 and $100 in person. And for the Citizen’s Challenge races, the fee is $25. Entry fees are slightly cheaper for 2017/18 Mt. Van Hoevenberg Season Pass Holders and High School / College Students. You can register here.
Along with post-race food and a free finisher pint glass, your Loppet entry fee includes the Celebration BBQ & Awards on Saturday evening following the races at Mt. Van Hoevenberg.
It’s quite a sight to see so many people racing up the stadium. It’s a must attend and we hope you’ll join us and stay at GO-Cottage!
