Film festival season is in full swing. And we’re lucky enough to have one in our own backyard! The Lake Placid Film Festival is coming up on October 23rd – 27th. The nineteenth annual festival is now five days long and features plenty of fun events in addition to the screenings.
You can’t go wrong starting with the Sneak “Peaks” Party on October 23rd, which will show 30+ trailers for this year’s films. Next, catch the Night Before Party on the following evening. You’ll be treated to a performance by the James River Movement, featuring the eponymous jazz legend who once collaborated with Clint Eastwood!
If you’re a cinephile and an oenophile, be sure to attend the festival’s Wine Tastings on the 25th and 26th. You can sample wines curated by our friends at Terry Robards Wine & Spirits.
The major event of LPFF is the Tribute Gala on Friday October 25th. This year, the gala honors the acclaimed author, screenwriter, director, and co-creator of LPFF Russell Banks. Tickets for the gala are $125 and include cocktail hour, dinner, and the tribute program.
Check back on the festival website in the coming weeks to see the schedule of films. All movies are available for individual purchase at $15, but you can also get a Full Festival Pass for $119 or less. It includes free entry to pretty much all the goings-on aside from the Tribute Gala.
Our two-bedroom cottage is still available for the the length of the festival, so book now and enjoy being part of Lake Placid’s emergence as a film capital!
