With the holidays fast approaching, there are plenty of ways to get in the festive spirit this season in Lake Placid! We still have availability for December, and if you book the Studio Cottage December 23rd – 27th for four nights you’ll receive a 10% discount!
The Lake Placid Holiday Village Stroll takes place Friday, December 13th through Sunday December 15th. The festive weekend features shopping, wine tasting, music, and events for the kids. You can even refuel with restaurant specials around town. Check here for a schedule of events.
First up is the kickoff Skating Party in the 1932 Arena on December 13th. From 5 to 6:30pm, enjoy free ice skating with your family and friends in the Lake Placid Olympic Center. You’ll be able to rent skates there if you don’t have your own pair.
Next, there’s the Adirondack Health Jingle Bell Run on Saturday December 14th. Feel free to walk or run, and kids are welcome too! The 2.5 mile course begins at the Lake Placid public beach at 8:30am and proceeds around Mirror Lake. Just be sure to register by December 12th on Active.com for a discounted rate.
Later that day, stop by the Maker’s Market Tasting at the Alpine Mall from 2 to 5pm. You’ll be able to try tasty samples from regional food and beverage producers. It’s a great opportunity to scoop up some gifts and give back at the same time – there will be donation buckets and bins to collect kids’ mittens, gloves, hats, scarves, and books.
On Sunday, you can hit the slopes at Whiteface Mountain. From 8:30am to 4pm, there will be special Holiday Stroll offers. If you dress as Santa for the day, you’ll get a free lift ticket! And if you bring a coat to donate, you can enjoy buy-one, get-one-free lift tickets for the day.
