The Adirondacks are chock full of sporting events this summer. Next up is the Can-Am Rugby Tournament on August 2nd through 4th. This Adirondack tradition started in 1973 with eight teams. Since then, it draws over 100 teams to the region!
Adults of all ages have a chance to register in teams and compete in at least two games. Here’s a sampler of the some of the colorfully-named teams already registered: Mystical Geese, Green Mountain Geezers, Burbany Mom Jeans, and the Union County Mud Turtles.
Nicknamed “The Rugby Christmas,” the Can-Am Rugby Tournament isn’t just fun for competitors – its ultimate mission is to give back to the Adirondack community. The tournament creates scholarships at local schools and colleges such as North Country Community College and Paul Smith’s College. It also provides financial support to local youth sports teams.
The Two-Bedroom cottage still has some availability in August. So book now to ensure you have a cozy cabin to come home to after your long days on the trails.
