Next, there’s the Adirondack Health Jingle Bell Run that same weekend on Saturday December 8th. Feel free to walk or run, and kids are welcome too! The 2.5 mile course begins at the Lake Placid public beach and proceeds around Mirror Lake. Just be sure to register by December 6th on Active.com.
December begins our winter sports season in Lake Placid too. You can get your Winter Olympics fix, starting with The Viessmann World Cup Luge on December 14th through 16th. It’s a chance to get right up next to the action and watch the world’s best compete!
Then there’s the festive New Year’s Masters Ski Jump on December 29th. First watch as ski jumpers launch themselves from 90m high and fly the length of a football field, then take in a spectacular fireworks display.
Finally, there’s Stars on Ice on December 30th at the Lake Placid Olympic Center. You can catch the best of U.S. figure skating with performances by Olympic Gold Medalists Meryl Davis and Charlie White, as well as Ashley Wagner and others.
